Solo - Adults, Non-competitive

Perform one or two selections of a contrasting nature. Selections need not be memorized. All ages welcome. The aim of non-competitive (N/C) classes is to provide comfortable exposure to performance. Participants will receive assessment but no marks or placements.

Solo - By Level, Non-competitive

Perform a selection from the approved syllabi or equivalent. Selections need not be memorized. All ages welcome. The aim of non-competitive (N/C) classes is to provide comfortable exposure to performance. Participants will receive assessment but no marks or placements.

Solo - Festival Newcomer, Non-competitive

These are non-competitive classes intended for participants entering the Festival for the first time. Performers may choose their own music. Selections need not be memorized.

Solo - Hymns/Sacred/Praise arrangements

Perform a published Hymn, Contemporary Worship, Spiritual or Gospel arrangement. Selections need not be memorized but it is recommended. All ages welcome. Time limit: 4 min

Solo - Jazz or Blues

Perform any arrangement of a published Jazz, Blues, Swing or Ragtime solo. Selections need not be memorized but it is recommended. Improvisation is encouraged. Time limit: 7 min

Solo - Pop

Perform a selection from any published source in one or more of the following genres: pop, soul, rock, alternative, indie, pop folk or country including movie themes. Selections need not be memorized but it is recommended. Time limit: 7 min

Recital - Pop, Jazz or Blues

Perform two musically contrasting selections in one or more of the following genres: pop, R & B, soul, rock, alternative, indie, jazz, pop folk or country. Selections need not be memorized but it is recommended. Time limit: 15 min

Solo - Pop, Jazz or Blues By Level

Perform a selection from the current Popular Selection list from the approved syllabi. Selections need not be memorized but it is recommended.

Duet - Pop, Jazz, or Blues

Perform a selection in one or more of the following genres: pop, R & B, soul, rock, alternative, indie, jazz, pop folk or country. Playing from memory is not mandatory but is recommended.
