2026 Syllabus (still being updated as at 30Sep2026) - Percussion

Memorization is not required but highly recommended.   If your piece is a sonata  you will need to define which movements you will be playing.  If your piece does not have any movements please put "none".

Provincial requirements: 

Solo Beginner - Junior: two (2) selections of contrasting styles.  Performers are encouraged to include any two of keyboard percussion, timpani or snare drum.   Maximum performance time: twenty (20) minutes.

Solo Intermediate:   two (2) selections of contrasting styles to include work on any two of mallets, tympani or snare drum.
- One (1) selection for Keyboard Percussion (e.g. marimba, vibraphone, xylophone)
- One (1) selection for Timpani, multi-percussion or Snare Drum.

The maximum performance time is twenty (20) minutes.

Solo Senior - Advanced: three (3) selections of contrasting styles to include work on any two of keyboard percussion, timpani or snare drum.
- One (1) selection for Keyboard Percussion (e.g. marimba, vibraphone, xylophone)
- One (1) selection for Timpani, multi-percussion or Snare Drum
- One (1) own choice selection.

The maximum performance times is forty (40) minutes.

Adulttwo (2) or three (3) selections of contrasting styles to include any two of keyboard percussion, timpani or snare drum.

The maximum performance time is thirty (30) minutes.
