2026 Syllabus (still being updated as at 30Sep2026) - Piano Classical (Junior)
Provincial requirements:
Levels 1 - 5, Adult: two (2) contrasting selections at the same grade level, from the current Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) or Conservatory Canada (CC) syllabus.
Memorization required.
Concerto
For Elementary-Junior-Intermediate, perform one fast movement of a Concerto or through-composed single movement Concerto. Time limit: Level 8 & Below -15 min Level 9 & Above - 20 min
For Advanced, perform one fast movement of a Concerto or through-composed single movement Concerto. Time limit: 25 min
For Open, perform two consecutive movements of a Concerto or a through-composed single movement Concerto. Time limit: 25 min
Orchestral part for all Concertos will be played on a second Piano.
Please note that the Italian Concerto by J. S. Bach is not permitted in this class.
