Syllabus Changes 2025

> All Provincial Qualifying classes are now gathered together in a dedicated section of our syllabus -- please enter those if you'd like to be recommended to enter Ontario Provincials

> For graded disciplines we've done the same as the Ontario Provincials and combined "Diploma" and "Open" into one "Open" category.
So for these graded disciplines:
Chinese Instruments
Classical Brass
Classical Harp
Classical Guitar
Classical Piano
Classical Lower Strings
Classical Upper Strings
Classical Woodwinds

Levels will now be:
Grades 1 to 10
Open (ARCT Level & Above)
Amateur Adults (Ages 29+)

For age-based disciplines of:
Composition
Contemporary Piano
Musical Theatre
Percussion
Piano Concertos
Songs from the Screen
Speech Arts
All Duets/Trios
All Popular Categories (brass, guitar, piano, strings, voice, woodwinds)

Levels remain:
Beginner (Ages 6-8)
Primary (Ages 9-10)
Elementary (Ages 11-12)
Junior (Ages 13-14)
Intermediate (Ages 15-16)
Senior (Ages 17-18)
Advanced (Ages 19-28)
Amateur Adults (Ages 29+)

> 2 pieces are required for the new Open instrumental classes in all categories. All repertoire must be at the ARCT level or above but does not need to be listed in the RCM or CC Syllabus. Max time 45 min

> for new Open instrumental classes, local festivals may recommend 4 candidates and 3 alternates

> Classical Voice classes have moved from Graded to Age-based levels. Pieces are permitted regardless of whether or not they are in the RCM/CC Syllabi

> Provincials have added Fiddle as a category

> Provincials will only require 1 piece for Live Popular classes except Voice

> School entries have until Mar31 to provide their repertoire

> Late fee of $50/day after Final Live deadline
