Peter and Audrey Switzer Trophy Room

Voice - Other - David Fischer Memorial Trophy

Donated By: The Fischer Family
First Presented: 2008
Criteria: Most promising - Pop Vocal

David Fischer, known to his friends as 'Fish', was a well-known and much loved Stratford musician. "Fish's life," according to friend Craig Foster, "was all about the music. He inspired many young people in this community to learn and play music. You can see his portrait in Allen's Alley off Wellington Street, in downtown Stratford."

After David's death, his friends and family held a benefit concert. They raised enough money to purchase several instruments for the Instrument Lenders. They decided that the money that remained in the fund should be put towards the purchase of a trophy in his memory. The David Fischer Memorial Trophy was presented for the first time to the 'most promising pop vocalist' at the 2008 Kiwanis Festival of the Performing Arts.
