Piano - Charles A. Bird Memorial Trophy

Criteria: Excellent Achievement in Piano - Levels 9 & 10

Charles A. Bird was the second president of the Stratford Music Festival. He succeeded W. B Rothwell in 1931 and served until 1939. He also served on the Executive Committee of Perth county Music Festival from 1928 - 1930 in the area of finance.
He was the conductor of the Canadian National Railway Band, the CNR Junior Orchestra, CNR Concert Orchestra and the St. Andrew's Sunday School Orchestra. He conducted these groups in the Festival from 1929 - 1937, winning various trophies and shields.
This trophy was originally awarded for a Sonatina but has been reassigned to Senior Piano.
