Norma Hoyt Clark came from a musical family and competed in the Festival in piano solo and duet classes beginning in 1941 until 1950.

Later, Norma joined the Stratford Music Teachers' Association and served as a Festival officer on the Music Selection Committee (from 1950 to 1952) when she moved out of town. Mrs. L. Hoyt, her mother, donated the Norma Hoyt Clark Memorial Trophy for Intermediate Piano in 1959 after Norma's untimely death.
