Criteria: Excellent Achievement in Piano - Senior Level
Charles A. Bird was the second president of the Stratford Music Festival. He succeeded W. B. Rothwell in 1931 and served until 1939. He also served on the Executive of the Perth County Music Festival from 1928 - 1930 in the area of Finance.
He was the conductor of the Canadian National Railway Band, the CNR Junior Orchestra, CNR Concert Orchestra and the St. Andrew's Sunday School Orchestra. He conducted these groups in the Festival from 1929 through 1937, winning many trophies and shields during the competitions.
This trophy was originally given for Sonatinas but has been reassigned to Intermediate Piano classes.
