Dale Yoshida

Dance

Dale trained in the full-time Professional Division of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School before being accepted into The Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company. As a company dancer, she toured North America regularly with special tours to England, Ireland, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Egypt and Mexico. She danced as a soloist in many ballets, notably Rodeo, in which Agnes de Mille personally selected her for one of the roles. While dancing with the RWB, she was involved in a number of television and film productions, both in Canada and abroad. Company repertoire included many forms of dance – classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern and tap – with noted choreographers including Alicia Markova, Agnes de Mille, Rudi van Dantzig, Oscar Araiz.

Dale recently retired from her position at Western University as lecturer in the Dance Minor program where she developed and taught ‘Ballet Fundamentals’ and ‘Dance Basics’. She was also co-artistic director of Western University’s dance program’s annual dance performance of original student works, “Studies in Motion”.
A Life Member and Registered Teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance, Dale continues to pursue her love of teaching at the North London Dance Centre and has enjoyed guest teaching numerous master classes and workshops in Southwestern Ontario. As a choreographer, she has worked with various groups encompassing all ages, from young students to adults. Dale was recognized for her contribution to the arts by the Mayor of London.
